Guidebook (Drupal Module)
Guidebook is a google maps powered module that offers aspiring climbing/buildering cartographers the ability to map their latest conquests. The module allows for two new node types "Guidebook" and "Route".
I'm uncertain whether this sort of functionality would be of much use to the Drupal community, so it remains a "private" module. You can see it in action @buildering.net.
If there's any sort of interest in it, I could clean it up (the theming needs a lot of work for one!) and release it as a general mapbook application.
Pagination of Flex MVC Frameworks
Yes, I realize the title makes absolutely no sense, but really, you should be used to that by now.
Pagination (Node) has a new release (6.x-1.2), and you can read all about the fun additions there.
Drupal Pagination
I've put my Pagination (Node) module up on drupal, and am looking to tackle two issues/features associated with it.
1 based paging
Currently, drupal pagination is 0 based, in that the URL will show "?page=1" for the link to page 2, "?page=2" for page 3, and etc. In the greater scheme of life, liberty, apple pie, and hockey, it's a pretty minor point, but it seems odd that the paging scheme ends up being "incorrect".
Pagination (Drupal Module)
Pagination (Node) allows the main content of arbitrary node types (Page, Story, etc...) to be paginated according to one of two methods:
Method 1: Content is paginated by a selectable "words per page" count.
Method 2: Content is paginated by manual breaks, inserted by the content creator.
Buildering Fun!
I've given ardarvin the first version of the buildering guidebook module. There's still some touch up features I'd like to add to polish it off, but it should serve our basic needs well. I'll post a link to it as soon as it actually goes up, and add it to the Random Code section for those interested in poking around.
Database Conversions & Dodgeball
I know Thunderstruck isn't technically an 80's song, but I'm still counting it.
I can happily say the database conversion is all done, and as such it feels fit to add yet another empathic, but likely empty promise to never again do it again.
In regards to inline images/media, I'm unhappy with the implementation I have, and it doesn't look like (on first glance) that I'll be able to create the module with the workflow I want.
The Tragedy of Inline Images
I've had some time now to focus more on Drupal, and it's definitely pretty impressive. The extensibility is excellent, and in looking over my latest bookshelf addition, Pro Drupal Development, I can see that I'll be inundated with random bits of "oh I can do that?" for quite awhile.
Of course this presents me specifically with another problem, that being, how to focus my time. I can't imagine freshly stepping into PHP right now. I remember first seeing it in action at around version 3, and building small little guestbooks, and other random widgets.
Random Code!
A repository of random code and some explanations behind it all. Non-drupal related code is licensed under Creative Commons (see the footer for more specific licensing details), so feel free to use and abuse as you see fit. Drupal modules are GPLv3.
Testable code can be found here. Tests are created in Simple Test.
I Give Up.
After years of toying around with my own code, it's time to refocus my energy. Mundanity (aka Dissonance), was a lot of fun. A small community of random people hung out here, unknowingly pawns in my coding exercises.
It's time for a change though, and for me to narrow down my focus. As such, I've chosen Drupal to aid in that.
