I found $5
I found $5! If you're unfamiliar with the concept (and were too lazy to click on the link), it's basically a great way to get out of awkward social situations of your own creation.
A quick example:
Owen: So the other day I was driving around town, and Faith came on the radio. I know it's not really a full on 80's power ballad, but man I was so into it!
Death, Taxes, and Storing Hierarchical Data in a Relational Database
A quick update to the Buildering.net situation. Basically, we're going to convert their install of Ikonboard (no link, because really, you shouldn't use it ever), to Drupal's kinda kludgy "Advanced" Forum module.
The benefit is a unified login system, which is good enough to outweigh the loss of "real" forum features. (Personally, I prefer forums that concentrate on the basics, too many buttons confuse me!).
The joys of almost not being sick
I got into the StackOverflow beta this morning, and have been poking around ever since. It looks really promising, and I hope as it grows it's able to find a way to keep quality high.
In their podcasts, Joel and Jeff discuss how they see that evolving, and a few methods they've implemented to ensure that.
I hate being sick. And Javascript.
Nothing like deciding to get back into the swing of things and promptly falling ill. I'm going to blame the weather.
On the plus side, all that downtime allowed me to listen to the entire series of podcasts on StackOverflow, which if you think about it, is quite an accomplishment since there are 19 episodes to wade through.
