Database Conversions & Dodgeball

I know Thunderstruck isn't technically an 80's song, but I'm still counting it.

I can happily say the database conversion is all done, and as such it feels fit to add yet another empathic, but likely empty promise to never again do it again.

In regards to inline images/media, I'm unhappy with the implementation I have, and it doesn't look like (on first glance) that I'll be able to create the module with the workflow I want.

Ultimately, I'm really interested in a method that is intuitive to an end user. I find Drupal has a pretty steep learning curve when all you want do use is perform basic functions. Although, from my digging through code/database structure escapades of the last week, I remain pretty impressed with how slick the codebase is, in terms of having it be extensible, but that doesn't detract from the various issues I feel still exist.

As I mentioned earlier though, it does look like there's a lot of work being done to deal with these issues, so I'll watch with interest as to how that shapes up. In the meantime, there are other projects to get started on, so I'll put the inline images issue on the back burner until I can devote some better thinking time to it.

Your blog title is misleading, it says you were talking about...

Dodgeball starts up tonight, which only goes to prove that even the most obscure of activities have odd followings. I'm not quite sure if it was the movie that inspired the league, or just a yearning for re-living the glory of days elementary school.

In only a semi-related thought, it reminds me of lawn bowling in Australia, which gained a bit of traction amongst the hipster crowd due to a certain television show* that featured the sport as an occasional past time of the angst filled, stunningly beautiful main characters.

Not long after, you would start to see more and more 20 somethings at the various bowls clubs, which were only glad to encourage a new wave of interest by tailoring their music and activities more to that age group.

The particular club by my apartment opened up a beach volleyball court next to their lanes, and it was entirely amusing to see senior citizens half bowling and half staring at the bikini clad girls.

* I can neither confirm nor deny my obsessive interest in the above mentioned show. But I will note that show jumped the shark after Evan left.
